Makoto Fukami (Tengoku Daimakyou) is handling the series composition, and Hirotaka Marufuji (Lupin III: Part 6) is designing the characters. Yasuharu Takanashi (Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu) is the music composer.

The official website of the Kinnikuman: Kanpeki Chоujin Shiso-hen (Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc) television anime revealed three additional cast members on Friday. The television anime is set to air with episode 0 on July 7 at 11:30 p.m. on CBC and TBS' 28 affiliated stations on the Agaru Anime programming block, followed by BS11 and Animax. Episode 0 will feature re-animated scenes from past arcs. The anime adapts Yudetamago's action comedy manga, which was serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump from 1979 to 1987. The manga returned to the ShuuPlay News web magazine in 2011. Shueisha shipped the 84th volume on March 29, with the 85th volume scheduled to go on sale on July 4. Weekly Playboy serialized two sequel manga from 1997 to 2011. Shueisha released the second manga's 28th and final volume in December 2011.
